Won't. Miss. This.

I Carry your Heart-- EE Cummings

Here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart.

I carry your heart. I carry it in my heart.

Today is a day of miracles. Thank You for Your abundant grace. :)

There is nothing wrong with wanting to win. There is nothing wrong with giving everything just to emerge victorious in the different races in life that we sign up for. But at the end of the day, it's always best to ask ourselves, how badly we want to win and why we want the win that badly.

It has been an awful stressful week for me. Could it be the hormones? Could it be PMS? It's almost the end of quarter two and projects have to finally be put to an end! Seriously! June has been nothing short of overwhelming. With the unexpected twists in the office, in church and the all-time-high family drama.

I badly need a break. Give me a kitkat.

Trade School Manila

A few weeks back, I bumped into an article about Trade School Manila. Boy, it was love at first sight.

Trade School Manila is a non-profit, non-traditional, independent learning community where students barter with teachers for instruction. It offers a broad array of classes where teachers can ask for barter items from her students in exchange of hosting the class.

As an advocate of learning, I couldn't help but feel like I've found my next volunteer opportunity. I didn't just want to be a teacher (although I'd love to host my own class!). I wanted to do more. So today I met with the founders of Trade School Manila and some of the other teachers for the previous seasons. It was the first of a series of meetups in preparation for Trade School Manila's Season 3! :) Exciteeeeed! :P

If you want to volunteer or you want to teach a class, just let me know!

Praying Over Daddy-o's.

Even in all our inadequacies, we can come to Him for the curtain has been torn. :)

In her Eyes

The past months have been crazy rough for Mama... and to me as well. There's something about family that really just hits the core of you no matter how tough you try to be. Sometimes, it's just sad. Heartbreaking, more of. And though there were times, my faith gets too close to wavering, the grace of the Almighty never fails.

You know you've grown up, when you look at your parents and see them as individuals-- flawed and vulnerable-- not as law-enforcing perfect creatures we're supposed to be like when we grow up. I see bits and pieces of myself in them the same way I see bits and pieces of who they are in me. Some of which, I like. Some of which, I don't. But I love them just the same.

We've had more heart to heart talks for the past 4 months than we've had for my 20 plus years of existence. And it has helped me see the world in her eyes. Ironic how that's equally nice and melancholy at the same time.

I know the One above has bigger plans for the both of us. I know it's not gonna be an easy-breezy walk in the park. I bet there will still be difficult days (Although Lord, I hope we've conquered the worst ones. Please. *wink*) But I will be still for I know that You are GOD.

Old Habits Die Hard

Take me to a bookstore (or better yet a library) and I wouldn't care about time or food or real life drama (Ansaveh sa real life drama?) Brought home textbooks today just because it's the first day of June! :)

Badly missing the Engineering Library and my favorite spot on the 2/F of UP's Main Library.
